LEC History
(top)
Lisa founded Living Earth Circle in Ashland, Oregon 1999 to catalyze
and celebrate the positive transformation of individuals, the community,
and the planet. The group began by offering public seasonal celebrations
incorporating experiential and performance art ceremonies. It soon grew
to offering performance art ceremonies for a multitude of community
events facilitating social and environmental responsibility. Living
Earth Circle’s early projects also included sponsoring ‘EarthKids’,
a children’s environmental group started by Njyhalo Pavati, Lisa’s
son, who was 7 years old at the group’s inception.
Current Projects and Community
Service (top)
Today Lisa Pavati and Living Earth Circle host several
annual community events as well as an ongoing experiential
training and personal growth program on Women’s Earth-based
Spirituality and Sacred Expressive Arts.
The annual Grandmother Council
Community Conference honors the women elders of our community and
creates a unique forum for their wisdom and expertise to be shared.
The event is open to everyone and features a public Council of Women
Elders, a broad spectrum of workshops on personal wellness and social
and environmental responsibility, and an Honoring Ceremony for “Women
of Age and Wisdom”. Living Earth Circle sponsors an open ongoing
council of women elders as an exciting offshoot of our annual Conference.
The Annual Labyrinth
Walk is a Three-day Community Sacred Celebration (Dec. 29- Jan.1)
featuring 72 hours of beautiful sacred music and meditative silence.
We also support many other community events (such as
Mother’s Day Pow Wow and Cultural
Arts Fair) with ceremony and sacred performance art.
